"Te de Tango" "Metro" I just finished this watercolor. It is not very original, but it depicts one of my favorite places, the Castle of Melfi, in my paternal grandfather's ancestral region, Basilicata. I visited it in July 2023. It was a place I had wanted to visit for a long time. A collection of watercolor and ink sketches of dancer Yukiko accompanied by an improvised bossa (which I christened "Bossa do Friday" to celebrate the end of the working week!). Journey through a watercolor I painted as part of an oncoming online critique by Dale Laitinen for the Northwest Watercolor Society. He provided the reference (a photo he took at Zion National Park) and the focus was a study in values. My last few experiments with watercolor. Splashing color on a page to then try to make it behave... Yesterday, with Leo at the show at McCord Gallery where I am showing my watercolor, "Serenade".
